New Holland is celebrating 50 years of continuous improvements on the CR harvesters’ features with the introduction of the latest technology for superior power output, performance, and capacity.
New Holland South Africa offers the following CR harvester models: the CR9.90 (390kW), equipped with 22” rotors and a cleaning area of 6,5m²; the CR7.90 (309kW), equipped with 17″ rotors and a cleaning area of 5,4m²; and the CR6.80 (230kW), equipped with 17″ rotors and a cleaning area of 5,4m².
Top feeding performance
Material feeding is advanced with the Dynamic Feed Roll™ (DFR), which ensures constant material flow to the Twin Rotor™, effecting a power saving of 5,2kW, and a capacity increase of up to 10%. With the straight and even flow of material through the TwinPitch Rotors™, the cleaning surface is evenly loaded for optimal crop and material separation.
The DFR ensures a linear speed adjustment between the working modules to process even green and wet material, enabling farmers to harvest earlier in the morning and later in the evening.
TwinPitch Rotor
The TwinPitch Rotor system is designed for two important benefits:
- The rotors’ high-pitch beaters with egg-shaped concave openings allow sufficient clearance to give a crop-on-crop threshing action that is much softer than a crop-on-concave threshing action. The design ensures an efficient threshing action, especially with high-volume yields.
- To ensure the best straw quality and fuel consumption, it is critically important that the crop should remain inside the harvester for the optimal length of time. That is why the CR harvesters are equipped with the shorter 2,64m rotor design.
With the combination of the TwinPitch Rotor and Dynamic Flow Control™, there is a significant saving on fuel, and the best straw quality is achieved.
Best-in-class clean grain sample
The Opti-Clean™ cleaning system ensures optimal separation between clean grain and other material. It can keep the system level, even if the harvester tilts as much as 17°, so the harvester is ideal for operating on level and uneven work surfaces.
Opti-Fan™ technology compensates for the effect of gravity on crop material. When the harvester harvests on an even level, the desired fan speed can be selected. Fan speed will also be automatically modulated when moving uphill or downhill.
The RotoThresh™ rethreshing system operates outside the main threshing area to ensure the maximum capacity for all crops.
After the rethreshing process, the threshed crop is ejected back onto the cleaning area with peddles and not into the main threshing area of the rotors, avoiding an overload of the main area and damage to grain.
Superior cab
The harvester’s cab is ergonomically yet simply designed. All functions are easy to set up, with everything needed to stay in control and get the job done at the touch of a button.
Every adjustment or action required during the threshing process can be done quickly, while all the necessary information appears on the Intelliview IV™ monitor screen.
Next-generation harvesting
Moving to the next level of harvesting machines, New Holland in Southern Africa will soon introduce the Next- Gen CR10 Combine Harvester, which incorporates cutting-edge technologies to drive down the total cost of harvesting for large grain farmers and increase profitability.
