Why settle for a second-hand tractor when you can buy a brand-new one ranging from R270 000 to R450 000, excluding VAT, with an extendable one-year warranty?
This is the question Richard Rule, sales manager at Rebelo Agricultural Machinery, Tarlton CASE IH Dealership, asked Farmer’s Weekly while showing off CASE IH’s impressive JX tractor range at their stand at Nampo.

He explained that buying a CASE IH tractor not only gets a farmer a new, reliable, tractor, but also buys peace of mind, as the farmer is buying a tried and tested product, backed by a strong after-sales network. Parts are also readily available across the country.
“Our tractors are built to last a lifetime if they are looked after, receive routine maintenance, with the right parts and right lubricants,” Rule said.
Rule said the JXT was ideal for upcoming and smaller farmers, municipalities or large farmers, looking to add a small tractor to their fleet for slash or grass work.
The tractors are available with 45, 55 and 75 HP engines and can pull anything from slushers of up to 1,8m long, depending on the engine size, to three-point ploughs, trailers and seedling transplanters.
The “Lift-O-Matic” switch allows implements to be raised and lowered at the flick of a switch to a predetermined height. This makes operating a lift mounted implement a simple task for all operators, according to Rule.
The JXM is an excellent medium sized tractor, consisting of two models with either an 80 or 90 HP engine.
While CASE IH tractors are traditionally red, a bright pink one was sported at Nampo as part of a promotion in partnership with Pretoria FM.
“The pink tractor has attracted photos from visitors, and become a nice conversation piece,” Rule said.
All CASE JX tractors above 75 HP are fitted with CASE IH’s renowned FTP four-cylinder turbo charged engines, which are fuel efficient and meet Tier 3 emissions targets.
A dry or wet clutch is available with the JXM, with the wet clutch being the better option for farmers who do a lot of loading work. The JXM could also be fitted with a creeper gear box for farmers who do very slow speed works, for instance for use during potato harvesting.
Next up in the range is the JX95 Straddle, a tractor that has made favourable impression in the market for those looking for a tough near 100 HP workhorse.

All the models can be fitted with CASE IH’s new CM1X telematic system. Rule explained that the system allowed farmers to track tractor working hours and idle time, and by doing so keep track of tractor usage and service times.
